getting excited about thursday night's fete and spent the evening tying bows and stuffing goody bags with the lovely brie. here's a video showing us at work, along with photos.

i heart small touches. goody bag contents:

-vanilla tea lights in colorful organza bags
-vellum cards (with sayings such as "let your life sparkle," "make a difference," "sip chamomile tea," "accessorize: your life is art" and a pink chandelier in the background) wrapped around fragrant incense AND the outside of the goody bags with a pink organza bow
-rose tea by tulsi with a personalized wrapper
-damask armwarmers locally sewn from reused fabric
-colored pencils tied with a bow.

the 50 goody bags (for first 50 arrivers) took us three hours to package and it was such fun. i could tie bows all day long.

note louis in his new pink snuggie for dogs (i know, i know) overseeing it all from my beloved chaise lounge. hope you enjoy this peek into the behind the scenes prep for thursday's fete (and that it gives you some ideas for crafting fun packages for friends). if we get wifi, we'll be ustreaming the event so that you can join us from afar at your computer.

bonjour from snowy oklahoma. we're forgoing this week's podcast to share another episode of tranquility du jour tv with jlo and moi sharing a sneak peek inside our beloved planner pads and offering up some tips on how to make the most of yours. considering many of you are gearing up for 2010 and getting your new planners in order, i thought this would be a timely episode to help guide your new year's intentions. get out your colored pens, glitter glue, ribbon, magazines, packing tape, and scissors. wishing you a well-organized and inspired set up for your 2010 dreams.

p.s. i received an e-mail asking what categories i use at the top of my planner pad so i wanted to share with all. i list my four organizations across the top: TS (for tranquil space - yoga studios), HTV (for hip tranquil ventures - social media + writing), TT (for TranquiliT - clothing line), and TSF (non-profit). on the right hand side i have KW for personal and school to-dos such as "schedule mani + massage," "register for spring semester," "clean out closet." you know, the personal to-dos that keep you going! those are my main categories. i'll also use the right side for meeting agendas so i'm sure to cover all relevant points. hope this helps. happy planning. xo

delighted to unveil the spring 2010 colors (names TBD) along with a sample of a new reversible piece. to enhance our versatility, we'll be producing a few pieces in two colors. yay for many ways to wear and now in varied colors.

our theme is ballet. some of my favorite childhood moments are donning tutus, dressing in pink and black, and putting on layers for my ballet classes. i hope you adore the new collection as much as i do. photos of samples and more coming over the next few weeks.

in between today's MSW orientation, a meeting with tranquil space's front desk team, and making final edits to tranquilsta, i decided to do a mini tour of a few of my favorite things at chez moi. you've seen photos of my organization overhaul and i thought a sneak peek into the changes via tranquility du jour tv would be fun. forgive my overzealous passion for all things french (beau says the french may not let me into their country if i keep producing videos like this).

considering i have a penchant for posting lists of my favorite things on the blog, i wanted to show you a few nooks such as my hearth altar, tranquility-filled mantle, meditation "happy place," creativity-inducing chaise, accessory table + display (i HEART accessories), oodles of books, and beloved pets bonnard, matisse, + louis. i hope you enjoy a belly laugh along the way!

this week's episode of tranquility du jour tv features the fall 2009 photo shoot for TranquiliT. i'm head over heels in love with the fall collection and i hope you are, too! i honor you for your great input in choosing this season's palette: mint, mauve, sky, and, of course, beloved noir. i know it's hard to think about tall boots, falling leaves, and hot cocoa when it's sunny and hot outside, but hopefully this sneak peek will be a breath of fresh air. xo

j'adore jaunts in berkley springs. today began with green tea sipping, a hike through the hills, and e-mail handling followed by a trip to the berkley springs farmer's market and a soak in the roman baths topped off with a mini massage. beau captured our journey to the farmer's market for this week's segment of tranquility du jour tv. the colorful flowers, fragrant lavender and chocolate mint (yum!), and succulent peaches were a total treat. supporting local farmers and indulging in hydrotherapy is medicine for the soul!

here's a snippet into my sojourn to oklahoma a couple of weeks ago: drive-by graceland in memphis, dining at sonic (beau's first drive-in experience), family time at olive garden (my favorite "restaurant" - seriously!), and a drive through the gorgeous wichita mountains where beloved pug is confused by the "puppies" (aka bison and longhorn).

when debating what to share for my second vidcast, i decided bringing the camera into the boxing ring would be a fun change of pace. with a constant desire to learn new things (always been a little too curious), i took my pink gloves and headed to a boxing gym in january. and, i'm proud to say, i've been going weekly ever since! this is a clip of thursday's session (um, still sore!) with my oh-so-patient trainer donte brown.

during one of our first sessions he asked me what my fitness goals were. i quickly replied, "i want to look like madonna!" now when i moan about running stairs (inhumane!) or doing crunches (doubly inhumane), he reminds me about madonna.

boxing has been humorous, challenging, and rewarding on so many levels. oodles of hand/eye coordination (not my strength) coupled with cardio and learning something totally out of my realm. i hope this makes you giggle (note the pink pumas) and inspires a spark of living outside your comfort zone - that's where life happens whether in a boxing ring, on a yoga mat, or at an art easel.
