Week 11 of 52 Weeks of Tranquility

Those of us in the Northern Hemisphere will be led into the spring equinox this week. Yay! After a fairly hardy winter filled with snow days and ice storms in the Northeast, there is deep anticipation of spring blooms.

As trees transform to green, tulips push from barren soil, and cherry blossoms pop along Washington, DC’s Tidal Basin, I, too, experience the gentle nudge to move out of hibernation.

During this seasonal shift, I like to sit down with a pen and paper to reflect on how I’m feeling about the activities that make up my days. Next Monday, March 23 at 3pm ET, I’ll walk you through this process, along with a few other tools, in our Seasonal Tranquilosophy Podcast.

In the interim, I encourage you to set aside at least 30 minutes to consider how you’re feeling about an assortment of areas in your life.

Here’s how: Set the stage for your reflection. Light a candle, turn on inspiring tunes {may I recommend Pink Martini?}, pour a bubbly libation, grab your journal and writing tools, and settle in for a dose of much deserved reflection. Make it an experience.

There may be some categories you’re drawn to and others that don’t excite you. Choose an assortment of at least eight to give a holistic big picture.
